U.S. Federal Law and Extraterrestrials

Both the United States government and our military have repeatedly denied the existence of UFO's and any interaction with extraterrestrials.

In 1982, a New York newspaper, reported that Dr. Brian T. Clifford of the Pentagon announced at a press conference that contact between citizens of the United States and extraterrestrials or their space vehicles was strictly illegal. He based his statement on an existing, loosely worded law that was broad enough to include exposure to extraterrestrials (Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, adopted on July 16, 1969). Violation of this law is automatically considered a crime and is punishable by 1 year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

IMPLICATIONS OF THE ET LAW...

If you should meet a Martian while walking in the woods and shake the Martian's hand in a gesture of friendship, you have been "exposed." Further, if your dog was first petted by the Martian, and you then hugged your dog you and your dog have been exposed.  If, several days later, a friend touched you or your dog then your friend has been exposed. If one reads the entire Federal Law, the "Martian," you, your friend and your dog are subject to the following:

  * A year in jail and a fine of $5,000.

  * The designated NASA administrator has the absolute authority...

        * to determine, with or without a hearing, that a person or object
          has been extraterrestrially exposed

        * to impose a quarantine of indeterminate time or condition under
          armed guard

        * to do the above in spite of any court orders to the contrary

In 1969, the ET law was buried in the 1,211th subsection of the 14th section of a batch of regulations that was passed by members of our government. How many of our elected officials bothered to read this law and then debate its merits is open to question. Clearly, the law has value in terms of wanting to protect people against possible harmful exposure to extraterrestrial beings or objects but, could it not also be used to silence witnesses who have seen extraterrestrials or UFO's? Is this also the intent of this law? We'll let the readers decide for themselves.
